Just to Let You Know

Just a few lines to assure you that I am still alive..! As is my blog – despite the fact that it seems to have been in a state of hibernation the past month

It has been a very busy month, to say the least. Not leaving much time – or even energy – for other activities, blogging included. I think I can safely say that I’ve been falling asleep at night as soon as my head hit the pillow – or even 2 seconds before that.. yes, really

Anyway, here we are; settling into the new apartment.

So are we happy with the way everything have turned out? Absolutely! The kids are all over their new neighborhood. I see their happy, enthusiastic faces from sunup till bedtime, as they’re keeping themselves busy exploring new places, searching for new treasures, making new friends. According to them, the world is a pretty cool place to be right now, and I can only agree.

I would love to add some photos here, but quite honestly I seem to have misplaced my USB cable.. although I’ve been looking all over for it (Still have a few boxes to unpack).

But as they say on the radio: Just stay tuned. I’ll get back into writing a little more frequently, soon.

One Year with my Camera

This week marks one year of blogging for me. If you like, you can read my very first blog post here Welcome to My Voice It was written in May last year.

Wow, it seems so long ago! Certainly my writing has turned out somewhat different from what I was planning at the time. But through the writing process I have learned a lot. Hopefully my blog has also brought a bit of inspiration to the world out there. And not to forget: it’s been fun!

Given my love for photography, I was thinking; what better way to remember this past year than through the lens of my camera? I have been wanting to make a slide show like this for a long time, and actually I was planning to add some self-made music as well but.. to be honest I’m a little short of spare time these days. I’ll keep that thought for another day:)

April Fool

No, I’m not going to pull an April fool’s joke on you (I do have a few up my sleeve for my kids though..) However, today being April 1st, I thought it would be a good idea to congratulate my mom – who is our family’s own “April fool” – having her birthday today.

My mother is a woman of many talents. Lately she has taken interest in fashion design for Barbie dolls. Among other things she has created a very beautiful and elegant collection of bridal gowns, with quite some attention to detail. Clearly she has put no small amount of time and effort into her project. This photo below shows one of her designs. Click on it if you’d like to see some more. Happy Bday!

Life Motivation

For more or less a year now I have followed a blog that stands out from any other blog I have been reading in the past: A Good Life. It not only presents lots of great photos, but is also quite extensive when it comes to conveying inspirational thoughts and reflections, in other words – a positive outlook to life.

Recently the author has created a special page focusing on the topic of finding greater motivation and inspiration in life, called Life Motivation. A wonderful idea. Without a doubt, many of these insightful reflections have been of great importance to me personally, helping me broaden my mind in many ways. I am sure there are many with me who can say the same.

I guess what I’m trying to say is; thanks Louis, for all the uplifting and inspirational thoughts you choose to share with all of us. You really do make the world a better place

December Thoughts

December already. How time flies! Sorry I haven’t been updating my blog for a while, there has been quite a few things needing my attention, and thus less time for blogging.

As we enter the last part of the year, I’m sitting here reflecting a bit on the months gone by. To me, it has been a time of many new thoughts and changes, and I realize this is much due to my decision to become part of the blogosphere. It’s fascinating how the mind can be broadened by reading the thoughts of others and sharing your own. How we can be inspired and come to understand ourselves more fully through the written word. When you think about it; what a wonderful invention the world wide web is!

Also, it has been a year of discovering the joy of photography, or rather; rediscovering it by taking it one step further. There is still a lot for me to learn though, which is good – as I love to learn, and I look forward to spending more time with my camera. Music wise.. I didn’t really get as far as I had planned for, mostly due to lack of time. I did get a few projects started though, and I trust 2009 will hold more opportunities for me.

Finally, and not to forget; I’d like to add a thought of gratitude. Sure, life has its ups and downs but.. isn’t it great to in fact be alive? Perhaps a simple thought, but still – I feel truly thankful for the life and the opportunities I have been given. Then, it is my challenge of course, to be able to seize the day and make the most of it.

First Month of Blogging

Wow! Today I have been blogging for a month already! How time flies! Funny how quickly it all became a very natural part of my everyday life…:)
