Oh No!
My 6 year old has been struggling with his first loose tooth lately. Finally, it came out – and soon another one followed.
From the moment he discovered there was something called the Tooth Fairy, there has been a constant focus on finding more loose teeth..
The other day he hit his foot against a chair, and quickly removed his sock to have a look at the injury.
Then, while giving his foot a close examination, he suddenly exclaims:
Oh no! Now I’ve got a loose toe!
Ha ha.. well, dear mr S – I sure hope not! (the Tooth Fairy isn’t really interested in toes anyway, is she?)
To Exist.. or not to Exist
..that is, as we know, the question ![]()
Here’s what happened when the 5 great philosophers Parmenides, Descartes, Heraclitus, Plato and Aristotle were boarding a flight to Athens.
A stewardess walks up to Parmenides. “I’m sorry, Sir,” she says. “I’m afraid you’re in the wrong seat. Could you please move?” “Of course,” he replies. And he disappears.
The stewardess turns to Descartes and asks, “Would you like something to drink?” After a moment the philosopher answers, “I think not.” And he disappears.
Then the stewardess walks up to Heraclitus, who has just discovered that his legs have gone to sleep. “What’s wrong Sir?” she asks him “I can’t move,” he replies. And he disappears.
Next, the pilot comes on the speaker and says: “I’m sorry to inform you we’re having a little engine trouble, but we’ll be on our way in about an hour.”
“An hour!” Plato exclaims. “Now I’ll miss my appointment! I wasn’t informed!” And he disappears.
“Oh, well” says Aristotle “No matter!” And he disappears.
Perhaps, every now and then, it’s better not to think so much..!
Have a good Monday

More than 7 Things
I’ve been trying to keep it a secret
but fact is we have a large room on the ground floor of our house, and it’s currently filled with – you guessed it – stuff. All kinds of stuff. Things we don’t use anymore, things we never really used, things we didn’t know where else to put. We only refer to it as “the big room” – and no, I will not post a picture from it!
We’re planning on rebuilding that room into a garage, and so it has to be completely emptied within the next few weeks. And that, I assure you, is no small job.
It makes me remember the saying;
“If you own more than seven things, the things will own you”
I can relate to that.. Although keeping only seven things may be a bit too ambitious, and I would have a hard time convincing my kids to get rid of (almost) all their toys!
Yesterday while going through a cardboard box, I came across something that I thought I had thrown away years ago. It was my first cellphone! Amazing!!! I had myself a good laugh. Here it is, along with my current one:
Old meets New; 1995 – 2008
They say the best way to understand the passing of time is by looking at other peoples kids. I’d say looking at cellphones would also do the trick!
