The Prayer

I promise, this is the last one. But I just had to include it, – I find it amazingly beautiful, the kind of song that sticks to my mind and won’t go away.. And maybe that is just what we should keep in mind, with Christmas being only two days away: A prayer.

I mean, regardless of what our approach towards life may be, – how can that be wrong?

My apologies for the poor quality. Obviously, the sound was a lot better than this. I’m afraid you will just have to use your imagination a little ;)

Don’t you just love those contrasts :) Here’s another clip from the Peter Jöback concert. Enjoy!

An Early Christmas Gift

Posted in faith, music by Linda on December 18, 2008

My parents gave me an early Christmas present this year; a ticket to Peter Jöback’s Christmas concert in Oslo. I was very happy to receive it, and the concert was good. However, though there were many great Christmas songs, this is the one that touched me the most. It’s Gethsemane from the Jesus Christ Superstar musical.
We tend to forget, don’t we, what Christmas is really all about. The birth of Christ, yes – but as magic and wonderful as the nativity story is, it’s just the beginning. The story of his birth, his life – and death – must be seen as a whole. A thought that naturally leads us to this song, even though not traditionally associated with Christmas.

I’ve heard the songs from this musical before. Still, being there – hearing it live – that was powerful. And I admit; by the end of the song, my eyes were certainly not dry.

Strange isn’t it, how music can hurt – and still make you feel good.

Stockholm Tonight

I just discovered this song “Stockholm i natt” by the Swedish singer Peter Jöback. The lyrics tells about how the ordinary and even unattractive becomes beautiful when your heart is filled with joy and happiness. Honest and heartfelt. If you can’t understand the lyrics, do enjoy the wonderful melody!
