After the Rain
Have you noticed; how after a rainfall the colors of nature seem to come out more clearly and beautifully than before?
Everything has been cleansed by the millions of raindrops falling..
Now mother nature takes a deep breath; all renewed, shaking off the very last drops of water
Ready to embrace the warmth of the sun
Dancing in the Rain
It’s not about waiting for the storm to be over. It’s about learning how to dance in the rain
I have a list of things I want to do, or do more of. Dancing in the rain is one of them. Now as we are entering the month of October I know all the colorful leaves out there will soon turn brown and fall to the ground. Tonight there is a minor rainstorm outside, I can hear the rain tapping on the roof right as I am writing. And we know from experience; there is more to come.
This fall I will make myself a promise; to go out into the rain more often, put my head back and feel the raindrops on my face. And remember to dance a little.
Happiness is all about the small things in life.

Focusing on the Sunny Days
I occasionally do a bit of scrapbooking. There are several reasons why this hobby has caught my interest. The most important one of course, is my love for photography. But I also enjoy being creative with different colors and styles.
The other day I decided to do a layout on last summer. It was a poor summer though, to be honest. I don’t mind a few showers, but this summer, the rain kept pouring down for… well, more or less 3 months. The kids were bored. They wanted to go to the beach, they wanted to do all the summer related activities that we dream of during the long winter. Of course, there are lots of things to do even if it’s raining. But after two weeks of everything being wet, all the time, it’s not so charming anymore.
However, planning my layout, I decided that instead of focusing on the rainy days, I would rather concentrate on the very few, sunny days in June; when I took these pictures of Mr C in our back yard. At that point we all thought we were in for a warm, lovely summer – good thing we didn’t know!
We got less than a week of warm sunny weather that year. Still, those days were good days. So instead of remembering the summer of 2007 as a poor one, I will remember it as a small one. Hence the title of my layout, which means just that; Small Summer – or in Norwegian: Liten Sommer.
