Who ever said that a school bus can’t fly? Of course it can 😉
This one is short, but I absolutely love it!
This is a poem that has repeatedly helped me through some rough times in life. It reminds me to keep focusing on what I know is the right path, even when it seems I am struggling all by myself and I cannot see any light at the end of the tunnel.
There is a light. There is always a way.
I believe that.

Just want to share with you a few recent winter photos. These were taken while visiting my parents earlier this month. After almost two weeks of gray cloudy weather, I woke up to the most amazing winter day.
Additionally, I stumbled upon a few inspirational winter quotes. Like this one:
The color of springtime is in the flowers, the color of winter is in the imagination ~Ward Elliot Hour
While I relish our warm months, winter forms our character and brings out our best ~Tom Allen
And a couple more:
Sometimes our fate resembles a fruit tree in winter. Who would think that those branches would turn green again and blossom. But we hope it. We know it. ~Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
Snowflakes are one of nature’s most fragile things, but just look what they can do when they stick together ~Verna M. Kelly
This one, however, is my favorite:
In the depth of winter I finally learned that there was within me an invincible summer ~Albert Camus
Isn’t that a wonderful thought, that no matter what the outside temperature may be like, we can always carry a summer on the inside.
Take care. L
Some say that pictures of sunsets are uninteresting, since sunsets have been photographed a thousand times already. That’s something you would never hear from me. I love sunsets. Have you ever thought about the fact that not two sunsets are exactly the same?
This photo was taken yesterday just outside the house. To get the angle right, I was standing on a kitchen chair on top of a snowbank.. much to the amusement of my kids (besides, it’s a good way to get to know the neighbors ;)) And what else could I do? I simply had to capture these wonderfully colored skies on camera. It was soooo beautiful.
This is the song that will represent Norway in the international Eurovision Song Contest in Oslo in a few months from now: my heart is yours performed by Didrik Solli-Tangen.
So are we hoping to repeat last year’s success? Well, I admit; it would have been nice. 🙂
Wishing him the best of luck in May!
As a young girl, this song was one of my best and most inspirational meetings with music. Not only does it have a beautiful harmonious melody, but its lyrics actually describes that special JOY that comes from listening to or performing music. I remember thinking it was brilliant; it was exactly how i felt. This song made me realize how much I truly enjoyed singing.
Also, I recall my admiration for the singer; both her beauty, her warm personality and wonderful voice. I really wanted to be like her. Watching this video clip, I still think she’s great (I guess some things never change).
What memories! 🙂
Who can live without it, I ask in all honesty:
What would life be?
Without a song or dance what are we?
This, I think, is a very good live performance of the song (must be watched on YouTube)
And here’s a more recent version, from the “Mamma Mia” movie. Not bad actually.
A period of unusually cold weather has settled over southeastern Norway, with temperatures down to -28C the past week. Now that’s pretty cold.. and in other areas the temperatures have been even lower, so I thought perhaps we could all need a little warmth today. 😉
Here’s a small collection of summer photos. Remember the feeling of warm sand and tasty strawberries… mmm!!!
